"Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist." (Luke 21:14-15)
Christians are supposed to be one of the voices of God in this world. Often times our voice is not heard, and even silenced because of various reasons: we don't know the Word because we aren't committed to studying; we try so hard to convince people by using our own words and not the Word of God; we try to argue the point until we lose an audience; and sadly, some of us aren't sure we believe the Word, so we're silent.
Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. (Psalm 119:11,16) The only way we are going to be able to be the light and salt in this earth that God has put us here to be is to: believe God's Word - ALL OF IT, even if we don't quite understand everything (John 2:22); study God's Word so that it is planted in our being, and allow the Holy Spirit to help make clear what we don't understand (II Timothy 2:15); and share the Word of God with others through the power of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). God will give us what to say and when to say it, we just have to have His Word deposited in us so that we can withdraw from it when needed.
