Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:22)
People only like to talk about and think on the goodnes of God, His love and generosity towards man. Yes, that is an attribute of God, but He is more than that. He also loves us too much, being our Heavenly Father, to allow us to go to Hell, without at least trying to help us understand the consequences of our choices, so that hopefully we will choose life. You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you. (Deuteronomy 8:5)
The Lord has chastened me severely, but He has not given me over to death. (Psalm 118:18) ... who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (II Timothy 2:4) God desires all people be saved, so he's very patient as he waits for man to accept the salvation freely given through Christ, but he will deal with us in various ways, and some not as pleasant as other, to help us along making a life saving decision. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" (Matthew 7:11) All we need to do is ask, not do, not earn, not buy, but just ask! Don't wait, but choose life today! Ask God to come into your life, in Jesus Christ name and be saved! (Mark 16:16; John 3:17; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:9; Revelations 3:19)
