Saved, not by works!

And [Abram] believed in the LORD, and [the LORD] accounted it to him for righteousness. (Genesis 15:6)

How to simplify this? Abram was “right” with God before he committed adultery (Genesis 16); before he was circumcised (Genesis 17); over 400 years before the 10 commandments were given (Exodus 20); over 2,000 years before Jesus was born. Salvation and Christianity did not begin in the USA. God offers salvation to all human beings, from the beginning of creation. There is nothing we can physically do to receive this gift from God. We just have to believe in faith. Works won’t make us a Christian, but being a Christian will lead us to do good works. (Galatians 3)
