... Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”... Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’... (John 3:1-21)
Father
We understand that God is the Creator of all things and all people, wherever they exist: But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)
Now we need to understand that God desires to have a more intimate and personal relationship with us, His most unique creation: Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;... (Genesis 1:26) God wants to be our Father, Abba which Jesus and Paul used to address God as their Father, in a relationship of personal intimacy: “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32) For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.” (Matthew 12:50) And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. ... (Mark 14:36) For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)
We are able to have this same intimate relationship with God through our relationship with Jesus Christ. Through our faith in Jesus, we become his "brothers and sisters", therefore God receives us as His chidren: Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” (Galatians 4:1-6)
What's the benefit of being a part of the family of God? Well, the inheritance - a promise of protection and provision for us during this life, and the best for us throughout eternity: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (I Peter 1:3-5) Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior today, and let God take care of you throughout eternity!
